Tobacco-related cancer deaths include deaths due to cancer of the lip, oral cavity, pharynx, esophagus, stomach, pancreas, trachea, bronchus, lung, cervix, kidney, bladder or acute myeloblastic leukemia.

Cancer is one of the leading causes of death. Cancer causes premature death, years of potential life lost, lower quality of life and high healthcare costs. Cancer caused by tobacco is preventable by reducing the prevalence of tobacco use.

In 2021, the rate per 100,000 of Deaths From Tobacco-Related Cancer (Aged 35 Years and Older) in Alachua County was 139 compared to Florida at 153. The line graph shows change over time when there are at least three years of data.

Alachua County is in the first quartile for this measure.
