Medicare Enrollment

Medicare Enrollment

Medicare enrollment is the total number of Medicare beneficiaries. This total can be broken out into two subgroups: those enrolled in Original Medicare and those enrolled in Medicare Advantage and Other Health Plans.

Medicare is the federal health insurance program for individuals over age 65 years. Knowing the number of older adults who are enrolled in Medicare helps identify those who are potentially without health insurance.

In 2022, the number of Medicare Enrollment in Alachua County was 48,452 compared to Florida at 4,914,416. The line graph shows change over time when there are at least three years of data.

Alachua County is in the third quartile for this measure. This means that relative to other counties in Florida, there are less Medicare Enrollment often in about one half of the counties, and it occurs more often in about one quarter of the counties.

The map illustrates county data by quartile. A quartile map is presented when there are at least 51 counties with data for this measure.
