Clients Who Sustained a Brain and/or Spinal Cord Injury

Clients who sustained a Brain and/or Spinal Cord Injury is the count of total clients that sustained a brain injury and/or a spinal cord injury and received services from the Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Program.

The Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Program (BSCIP) provides all eligible residents who sustain a traumatic brain or spinal cord injury the opportunity to obtain the necessary services enabling them to return to their community.

In 2015, the number of Clients Who Sustained a Brain and/or Spinal Cord Injury in Alachua County was 32 compared to Florida at 1,903. The line graph shows change over time when there are at least three years of data.

  • The data only contains clients that made it into an "In Service" status for a General Program - Adult or General Program - Pediatric case.
  • Data are based on county of residence.
  • The "Injury Date" is used for the date parameters and determines the date of the record that is returned.
  • A client may be counted more than once for multiple injuries in a given year.
  • Clients who sustained a Brain Injury include clients with only brain injury. Clients who sustained a Spinal Cord Injury include clients with only a spinal cord injury. Clients who sustained a Brain and Spinal Cord Injury include clients with a dual injury.
  • Chart will display if there are at least three years of data.
  • Multi-year counts are a sum of the selected years, not an average.
  • Quartiles are calculated when data are available for at least 51 counties.
