Gonorrhea

Gonorrhea is a common sexually transmitted infection (STI). Gonorrhea is caused by the bacteria Neisseria gonorrhoeae. The infection can be spread by contact with the mouth, vagina, penis, or anus.

Monitoring newly reported gonorrhea cases helps target prevention and educational programs to affected individuals and populations.
