Psittacosis (Ornithosis) 
Psittacosis is an illness characterized by fever, chills, headache, muscle pain, and a dry cough with pneumonia often evident on chest x-ray. It is caused by the Chlamydia psittacine bacteria. The bacteria can infect people exposed to infected birds.

Psittacosis is monitored to prevent and control outbreaks.
