A blank indicates that either no data are available for the specified time period, or that the data are suppressed due to low counts. Suppression helps maintain the validity of statistical measures.
In 2014, Okaloosa and Walton Counties performed a combined point-in-time count of persons experiencing homelessness. The combined count appears under Okaloosa for that specific year, while Walton is blank. Therefore, 2014 data from Okaloosa/Walton is not comparable to other years.
The 2021 Point in Time (PIT) count numbers are not comparable to the previous or current years’ counts. Typically, Continuums of Care (CoCs) conduct a PIT Count of both sheltered and unsheltered households. In 2021, due to COVID-19 related safety concerns, only six of the 27 CoCs conducted such a count; 10 CoCs did not conduct an unsheltered count; and others conducted a modified form of the unsheltered count. All CoCs conducted a sheltered PIT count. For those that did not conduct an unsheltered count, the CoCs reported zero unsheltered persons, resulting in an undercount of homelessness.
